What is the difference between bacteriology and microbiology?
Microbiology includes bacteria, archaea, certain algae/protists, and some fungi. Microbiology also includes the field of Virology, the study of viruses, which are not considered to be organisms. Microbiology is the study of all organisms that are not generally visible by the naked eye. Microbiology is the study of microorganisms, which are unicellular or cell-cluster microscopic organisms. This includes eukaryotes (with a nucleus) such as fungi and protists, and prokaryotes (without a nucleus) such as bacteria and certain algaes (though viruses are not strictly classed as living organisms). Bacteriology strictly is the study of bacteria.
