The Hispanic Annual Salute will hold its annual gala dinner this Saturday, honoring a vast number of high school seniors with scholarships and also recognizing two standout previous recipients.
Alyssa Mitson-Salazar is one of those students who exemplify the Hispanic Annual Salutes legacy. Mitson-Salazar is currently a senior at Yale University and holds true to the standards from which the scholarship is based on academics and volunteerism.
Mitson-Salazar, a graduate of Centauri High School in 2008 is studying molecular, cellular and developmental biology. She explains that while science has always been of interest to her, it wasnt until she began immersing herself into biology that she realized that it was a right fit. She will graduate in May. After graduation, she plans to take some time off before pursuing a joint MD/PhD degree. Shed like to do both research and work with patients.

Im planning on going to medical school and I feel that my resume will stand out and be unique if I double major in French(fluent, native language) and Spanish(almost proficient). Doing pre-med along with this double major will give me more opportunities.
You intend to major in a language and you use grammar like a pre-school child.....
I would not worry about how a resume would look at your stage of the game. Maybe you should catch a clue from all of the other pre-med students...... take

I am planning on going back to school in the fall, and my plan is to go into healthcare( Nursing, X-Ray etc.). I know I want to major in Psychology or Communication, but I am wondering if a Biology or Biomedical Science minor would be enough on my resume,
If you're prehealth and you don't want to major in biology, be prepared to spend an extra year in school to fill all the pre-requisites that health schools require you to do that were not in your major.
